Coursera Coach

What is Coursera Coach?

Coursera Coach is the generative AI assistant built into Coursera's course playback screen. It acts as an always-available study tutor that answers course-related questions, simplifies difficult topics and gives feedback on practice work.

Key capabilities of Coursera Coach

• Concept explanations: explains difficult ideas in multiple ways
• Lecture summaries: gives concise video summaries and key takeaways for notes
• Practice questions: generates extra questions and walkthroughs for quizzes and assignments
• Feedback on exercises: responds to practice work
• Progress tracking: tracks learning progress across courses
• Study reminders: smart reminders to keep learners motivated

How Coursera Coach works

Learners open Coach on the course playback screen while watching a lecture or reading, then ask a question, request a summary or ask for practice problems. Coach answers in the context of the course material. Coursera publishes limited detail on the models behind it, so this page does not name them.

Who uses Coursera Coach?

Learners on Coursera courses use it for study help. Coursera also announced Coach-related features for learning leaders, and Coach is included with Coursera Plus according to third-party coverage.

Coursera Coach pricing

Coursera does not list a separate price for Coach on the pages we could read. Third-party reviews say Coach is included in Coursera Plus and that a limited free version exists. Check Coursera for current access rules per course.
