Khanmigo

What is Khanmigo?

Khanmigo is Khan Academy's AI tutoring platform that guides learners toward answers rather than simply giving them. It draws on Khan Academy's content library across math, sciences, coding, social studies and humanities, and also assists teachers.

Key capabilities of Khanmigo

• Guided tutoring: Socratic-style help that encourages critical thinking.
• Lesson planning: Standards-aligned lesson plans for teachers.
• Rubric generation: Create rubrics and assessments.
• Exit tickets: Generate exit tickets and learning objectives.
• Progress summaries: Summaries of student progress.

How Khanmigo works

Learners chat with Khanmigo while working through Khan Academy content, and it asks guiding questions instead of handing over the answer. Teachers use it to plan lessons and generate rubrics. Individual teachers cannot grant classroom access to students, since school access requires district-wide implementation.

Who uses Khanmigo?

Students from elementary through college, parents supporting homework, and teachers use Khanmigo. Common Sense Media rated it 4 stars for learning.
