Volunteer questions, answered
Who can volunteer?
Anyone passionate about the startup and technology ecosystem — students, professionals, founders, operators, and creators. You bring curiosity and reliability; we provide the platform and the network.
Is prior experience required?
No. Many roles need only enthusiasm and dependability. Others — like chapter leadership — benefit from experience, but we onboard and support everyone who joins.
How much time is expected?
It depends on the role. Some are a few hours a month or per-event; leadership roles are more ongoing. You choose a commitment that fits your life.
Can students apply?
Yes. Our Student Ambassador program is built for students who want to lead a campus chapter and get early exposure to founders and startups.
Can founders volunteer?
Absolutely. Founders and operators often volunteer to mentor, host, and give back — and build relationships while they do.
Are there leadership opportunities?
Yes. There's a clear path from volunteer to community champion to chapter lead to ecosystem leader, with growing ownership at each step.
Is volunteering remote or in-person?
Both. Content, growth, and media roles are largely remote; event and chapter roles are in-person and city-based. Many volunteers do a mix.
